July 31, 2012 A group of Auburn residents have formed a political action committee that aims to defeat a Proposition 2 1/2 override ballot question proposed to fund Bay Path Regional Technical Vocational High School's expansion project.
According to Steven Maher, who is chairman and treasurer of the committee, he and about a dozen Auburn residents have established the "Vote No to $73.8 million Committee," chiefly "because of the current economic climate. Too many people are hurting too much to pay more in taxes."
During spring elections the school asked voters its 10-member towns to support a $73.8 million expansion and renovation project by passing a debt exclusion.
