SOUTHBRIDGE — According to Michael J. Sclamo Sr., he won't stop until the day he dies.

On Aug. 2, 2010, 19-year-old Michael J. Sclamo Jr. died on the train tracks behind the Price Chopper on Cambridge Street in Worcester.

In honor of Michael Jr., Michael Sr. and fiancé Gwen Bultron have started the Michael J. Sclamo Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.

This year's fundraising event is on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Pilsudski Polish-American Club at 18 Ballard Court from 4 to 9 p.m. All proceeds will go toward a scholarship in his honor awarded to two college-bound students at the Southern Worcester County Education Collaborative, where Michael Jr. attended. Michael Sr. said that every year he's alive, he would take part in this to honor his son.

"To help Michael Sr. get through his grief, I'm trying to show him how to put it through another outlet," said Bultron. "We weren't sure how we were going to give out the scholarships. We didn't know if it would be for one student every year, so we sat down with the dean and the board at the school and we asked them for students to write essays. It was tough to choose, let me tell you."
