O'Leary to leave Board of Health

June 22, 2011
SOUTHBRIDGE — Twenty days after the devastating tornado that ripped through the region, the Town Council meeting Monday night, June 20, was still dominated by first-hand accounts and questions as to what the town will be doing to solve the problems of the disenfranchised.

To a crowd of roughly 50 people, it was easily the largest attended Town Council meeting in the past six months, and with four recesses during the meeting and more than a three hour and 15 minute runtime, it was also the longest.

Dr. Thomas O'Leary spoke before the council and packed crowd and announced that he will not be seeking reappointment to the Board of Health, where he serves as chairman, but will be still running for School Committee.

After his resignation at the meeting, O'Leary declined to further comment on his statement.
